Hey There Gray Jay
This afternoon adventure started with a question that actually has been percolating for about a month. In the beginning of August we hiked Leidy Peak (12,000ft) with my Sister Kira and Brother-in-law Adam.
On the way back, the Bird Nerds (Adam and Rachel), kept debating whether or not the gray bird swooping along the trail was a Clark's Nutcracker or a Gray Jay (Canada Jay). It's a neat bird; but honestly, to me I just latched onto the name Gray Jay because my Silver XJ Jeep needed a name, and we cannot abide an unchristened vehicle in this household.
Over the next month, the question festers and I admit to being more curious about the bird than I let on, and over Labor Day Weekend we wanted to go for a Sunday Trip:
It's time to pack the Crackers and Cheese, we're going on a Picnic.
